Canadian Louise Arbour has a unique perspective on the world and a unique role in some of the most important issues of our day. She is President & CEO of the Brussels-based International Crisis Group, the world’s leading independent, non-partisan source of analysis and advice to governments, and intergovernmental bodies such as the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank, on the prevention and resolution of deadly conflict. www.crisisgroup.org
From 2004 to 2008, Madame Arbour was UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and before that, Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda. In 1999, she was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada.
The Venue is The Reform Club – one of the great private clubs of London. Housed in a Grade 1 Listed Building designed by Charles Barry, The Reform Club has been a Global centre of political thought and debate since 1836.
